I am available for lessons and clinics for gaited horses, English, Huntseat, Dressage, Jumping, Western Pleasure, trail obstacle, starting colts, showmanship and speed events. I no longer travel to do private lessons but travel for full day and weekend private and group clinics. I also will do hourly lessons at my own facility. I have two ways of doing clinics.
My preferance is to have someone set me up with hourly lessons that are private lasting for a whole day (8 hours) or a weekend. I give discounts for people taking more than one lesson and for families. I feel everyone gets more for their money when they have one on one time with me but encourage other participants to listen in and watch.
The second way is to hire me privately to visit your facility and help you work through any number of issues with you and your horses. Family members welcome.
Fees:
Weekend group clinics: 75.00 an hour or 65.00 for more than one lesson or family members taking lessons. I need to have a minimum of 10 scheduled lessons for this to work.
Weekend private clinic: I can travel up to 2 hours from Bozeman for the day at 350 or 500 for the weekend. Farther than 2 hours and I have to add in some extra gas money. My darn Hemi sucks the gas!
Lessons at my place: $50 dollars a lesson for up to 1 1/2 hours.
Commission: I charge 10% commission for horses I sell. Due to the large number of people that I work with I cannot advertise horses I have never ridden and I don't sell horses that are not boarded with me. I don't have time to travel the countryside with clients as much fun as it is! I also will not endorse a horse I don't know. Unfortuneately people often judge their horses too kindly and I can't promise a horse is kid safe if my own kids haven't ridden it!
Board: I don't board horses any more unless I am brokering them. Board is $150 a month.

Gait Clinic

Three Forks, MT~ Mountain Magic Ranch invites you to join us for a 1 day Gait Clinic with our trainer, Sara Tharp, here at the ranch. Sara has a natural gift with gaited horses and is an excellent instructor. If you are having problems with bitting, saddle fitting, getting proper gait from your horse or just want to learn how to ride a gaited horse, you will want to sign up for time with her. You won't be disappointed. Contact us to get signed up.

 GET INTO THE "GAIT" OF THINGS!
Riding a gaited horse is so much fun but if you aren't sure how it is supposed to feel, you may need some help. Not all gaited horses feel the same, so it depends on what breed you are riding. Rocky Mountain gaited horses have a 4 beat lateral gait that is very smooth and has an audible "pica poca, pica poca" sound to it. If you are watching a Rocky move in gait you will see a bobbing tail that signals the horse has reached gait. If you have never ridden a Rocky, you will be in for a treat and a great lesson on just how to get that gait and enjoy it!
Lessons will begin at 9a.m. and run through 5p.m.
Each lesson will run for approximately 1 hour. You may sign up for a private lesson or a group lesson. We will have horses available for your use or bring your own. Please bring your own saddle if you have one or we will supply you with one of ours.
Price: $50 per hour for private lesson or $40 per hour for group lesson
$20 per auditor
Helmets are required.
If you are bringing your own horse a coggins test is required.
